My Background and Personal Story

I began my start-up business The Soap Garden in Kanata, Ontario to share my passion for creating bath and body products with consumers in the local market and nationally. 

I’ve been obsessed with skincare for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I never really enjoyed science. Today, the science behind soapmaking excites me! I guess I just needed to dig deeper to find the part of science that brings me joy. Additionally, I am looking forward to continuing my quest for knowledge with a diploma in skin care formulation. 

My first batch of soap was made with only three oils: olive, coconut, and castor. I used lavender essential oil because this was my grandmother’s favorite scent. It turned out great, and I am proud to share that I still get requests for this simple soap.

I am a lifelong DIY fanatic and have spent many hours painting, scrapbooking, woodworking, card-making, and much more however, soapmaking has my full attention.  I even dream about soap. That’s normal, right?  

Most days, you can find me in my soap studio mixing essential or fragrance oils to create my own signature scents, attempting a new pouring technique, or creating my next season’s soap launch.  

I am still learning, and I look forward to growing this business and continuing to learn the art of soapmaking.
